Split Heat Pump

Heat Pump Testing in the SOHO Premises of effiziente.st

Introduction

During the gas price crisis, ways were sought and found to shut down the gas boiler. This involved individual solutions in three rooms with four air-to-air heat pumps/air conditioning units. Due to the time pressure, the solutions are only test vehicles, which served to discover changes to the equipment so that the solutions fit into appartments and meet the requirements.

Aim

  • Reduction of heating cost
  • Reduction of CO2-Emissions

Preparative work

  • Double glazing inner casement box window
  • CaSi interior insulation
  • Balcony solar thermal
  • PV balcony power plant

Energy converter

  • Heating exhaust air-air air conditioning systems with utilisation of the roller shutter cover
  • Air-to-air air conditioning systems with utilisation of the roller shutter cover
  • Split air-to-air air conditioning systems with outdoor unit in the Light/ventilation shaft

Offer

Lab: Manufacturers of heat pumps could use the laboratory and the expertise of effiziente.st to develop devices that are adapted to historic buildings.

Due to the insulation and type 33 radiators, a heat pump can be used with the hydraulic system. However, the outdoor unit should have a small width. The second option is to drill into the groundwater for direct evaporation. The third variant uses covers made of roller blinds for air inlet and outlet for an air-to-air heat pump. Such a solution can also be used by tenants.

Ideation: Some ideas have already been submitted to the patent office for protection, which can be further developed in research projects.

Energy agencies could use effiziente.st's expertise to develop a campaign aimed at decommissioning gas boilers in historic buildings. see here
